Union Station Announces Union Station Creations Art Contest for Kids
How would you get from here to there? That’s the question that the Union Station Creations art contest for kids is seeking submissions for. The transportation-themed art contest for kids runs October 1, 2020 through November 1, 2020.
Submissions are generally left up to the child and can involve crayons, markers, paint and pencils. Imaginative art featuring anything with wheels can be submitted.
Completed submissions should be emailed by an adult to UnionStation@OConnells.com and will be posted to the Union Station Facebook page. Please make sure that the child’s name and age is included in the submission email.
One winner from each of the three age groups will be awarded a prize including Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards.
Prizes must be collected in-person at Union Station.

The contest is open to children ages 13 and under. Void where prohibited.
No purchase necessary to participate or win.
Contest begins October 1, 2020 at 12:01 am ET and ends November 1, 2020 at 11:59 pm ET.
Limit one (1) entry per child.
Age Groups:
- Under six (6)
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years
- Eleven (11) to thirteen (13) years
To enter, create a transportation-themed drawing, painting, collage, sculpture or any other type of original visual art. Email entry to UnionStation@OConnells.com or drop it off at the Springfield Union Station Security Office, located on the main concourse at 55 Frank B. Murray Street in Springfield MA. Entries submitted digitally via email can be scanned or attach a photo of the finished project. Alternatively, entries can be mailed to:

All entries must be received by Friday, October 30th at 5:00 pm ET. Mailed entries must be postmarked by this date.
All entries must include the art, entrant’s name, age and mailing address, parent/guardian’s contact information (telephone number and/or email address). Any entries missing the above requirements will be disqualified.
Contact and address information collected will be used for the sole purposes of notifying contest winners.
All entries must be original and entirely created by the entrant.
There are no restrictions on what medium an entrant can use.
One (1) winner in each age-group will be selected.
Prizes include: One (1) ten (10) dollar (US currency) gift card to Dunkin’ Donuts, one (1) fifteen (15) dollar gift card to Subway restaurant and assorted promotional items from the transportation carriers of Springfield Union Station ($0 value).
Winners will be notified by the email or phone number submitted with their entry. Prizes must be collected at Springfield Union Station by the winner’s adult parent/guardian.
Union Station, Appleton Corporation, and the Springfield Redevelopment Authority have no liability for a winner’s failure to provide correct contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 15 days from the time of award notification, or fails to timely return any necessary declarations, releases, or additional information, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
Winning this contest requires complying with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER WILL RESULT (AT SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION) IN SUCH WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
All entries become the property of Union Station and may be used or reproduced in any manner and for any purpose by Union Station, Appleton Corporation, and the Springfield Redevelopment Authority without additional consent or compensation, and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Entries will be judged at contest end. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity.
Decisions are at the discretion of Appleton Corporation and are subject to change at any time.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

By participating, Contest entrants: (1) represent that they have complied with these Official Contest Rules; (2) have received parental consent and grant Union Station, Appleton Corporation, and the Springfield Redevelopment Authority the right to use his or her name, age, city, state, and likeness; (3) release the Union Station, Appleton Corporation, and the Springfield Redevelopment Authority from any and all liability in connection with this Contest; and (4) agree to execute a prize acceptance form and publicity release if requested to do so, all without further compensation.
Union Station is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected entries, or incomplete/incorrect entries.
Union Station reserves the right to disqualify anyone who attempts to tamper or otherwise interfere with the proper functioning of the entry process or winner selection process.
